Brittany + Jacob
Constance + Jeff
Constance and Jeff decided to get married on his family’s property here in Lafayette and what a great idea that was. A gorgeous estate located on the Vermillion river. Everything about this wedding I loved. Every single detail made my heart so happy! There are a few things that Constance had on her big day that was perfect. The groom and his groomsmen’s dark navy suits, her florals were incredible (Root Floral outdid herself), Constance’s gold wedding, and her bridesmaid’s assortment of dresses!! I mean seriously! Constance let her girls pick out their own dresses and when we saw them all together on the day of our jaws dropped. When ya friends have good taste you give them free rein. All of her girls were stunning and their neutral palette against Root’s deep florals is to date my favorite combination. Constance and Jeff were such a sweet couple to work with. It’s couples like them that make my job the best job ever! Here are some of my favorites from their day.
Planner: Southern Fete
Florals: Root Floral Design
Cake: Gambinos Bakery
Hair/Makeup: The Beauty Room
Wedding dress: Maggie Sottero
Groom attire: Mary Ellen’s
When a friend who is an awesome photographer asks you to take her maternity pics you say yes! (Be sure to check out her work at www.brassandtwine.com) Especially when there’s a pretty round baby bump, warm fall colors and these two beautiful people. Baby June will be here any day and we all cant wait to meet her. She is already so loved and she will be so excited to know how cool her parents are! Here are some of my favs!
I’ve known Harley for a couple years now and we’ve had the privilege of working on many weddings together. Our goal; making our bride’s wedding day as perfect as possible! You see Harley works for a local wedding planner, Cassie with Southern Fete. Now the tables have turned and it’s Harley’s turn to be the bride, and what a gorgeous bride she’ll make! Since Harley has seen so many weddings she wanted something different for her own. Sooo in March we are heading to….wait for it…. MEXICO! YAY! A destination wedding is always a great choice. Since she’ll have an international flare for their wedding day she wanted something true to her southern roots for the engagement session. Harley’s dad is a local farmer and Cody works with him. How fitting that we shot in a southern plantation then afterwards in the cane fields that her family harvest. Harley wins the “fashionista” award! We were able to fit in 4 outfits in the two hour session. Aren’t they awesome! Here’s some of my favorites from the shoot.
Jennifer + Luke
Today marks the first day of fall. What better way to say goodbye to summer then a blog post from Mexico.
In May Michael and I had the privilege of traveling to Mexico to photograph Jenn and Luke’s wedding. It has been one of my highlights since starting Hannah Mulligan Photography. As much as we love to travel and as much as I love what I do; to be able to combine the two was something magical. Jennifer and Luke decided to take their family and closest friends to a resort in Cancun to have their wedding. For us to be involved in such a small, fun, intimate setting I felt more like a friend then a vendor. They were so warm and welcoming to both Michael and I. The wedding day was filled with some of our favorite things. First and foremost the BEACH, romance, music, fun, HEAT and LOVE! Talk about a laid back day. For all you brides who are looking for something different think about a destination wedding! I dont think you will be disappointed!
Erin + Blaine
These two celebrated their 9 year anniversary yesterday! Time sure does fly by when you’re having fun! While we were in Utah this summer we spent one morning watching the sun rise in the national park. When photographers travel you know there has to be time set aside for a photoshoot! Erin and Blaine shot my husband and I while I shot them. We spent the morning exploring and totally getting lost! Good thing it’s gorgeous there and even if we didn’t get to see the sun rise in the double arches we got to see beautiful scenery. When we finally arrived at the double arches we were so excited! Definitely worth all the hiking (barefooted I might add)! Getting lost in a place like this was the best thing that could have happened! That early morning hike was one of our favorites!
So congratulations to our friends and travel partners! Yall sure do make a great team!
Jasmine + Cory
Jasmine would pass by this privately owned historical home and always thought she would love to get married there. She finally stopped by one day and met the nice owners who said “come on in.” You never know if you dont ask. Of course they didn’t mind at all! Only in the south would strangers open up their homes to other strangers for a wedding. Jasmine had planned this sweet, intimate ceremony to take place on the front lawn under the oaks. It was a bright sunny day and then out of no where, in true Louisiana fashion, an afternoon downpour came. Talk about terrible timing. I was so nervous she would have been upset but Jasmine didn’t let it get her down! With their two daughters and about 10 of their closest family and friends they became Mr. and Mrs.
While we were in Mexico in May my sister and her family were there to celebrating their anniversary! What better gift then a family shoot. I love shooting my nephews; I mean come on; could they get any cuter? They are growing up so fast, Im seeing the importance of photographing each stage. Fisher is 4 years old and he already had lost a tooth. 1/2 way through the shoot he lost another tooth leaving him with that adorable gap at the bottom of his mouth. Shooting a family is very different my normal couple session. Kids definitely give you a run for your money. Michael had a bag of M&Ms and after every picture would reward the boys with their “treat”. Kinda like puppies. “Smile”…good boy. (mouth opens for M&M) It was a good little system. What I love about Lindsey is she always finds the PRETTIEST hotels anywhere she goes. Nizuc was absolutely stunning! I was so excited to photograph there. Happy 14th! Love yall!
