SUSAN + AARON
If you have ever sat down with the daunting task of getting together a guest list for your wedding, you know that 50 guests can quickly turn into 200. I mean where do you stop? “If we invite them we’ll have to invite them.” Here in Louisiana we pride ourselves on hospitality. Where does that leave us a wedding guest list?
Sometimes less means more…Do you really need your third cousin’s +1 watching as you share your vows or your first kiss as husband and wife. It should be intimate with your closest love ones. They should have the privilege and honor of sharing that special moment with you. Susan and Aaron achieved what seems to be impossible…a small, sweet, simple ceremony.
On their wedding day I got to drive two blocks from my house in the Saint Streets to Aaron’s family’s home where the ceremony would be. Already I was emotionally connected because of the love for the area and their home. We often walk Bonnie, our dog and pass their house not knowing one day I’d get the opportunity to photograph their wall-papered, charming southern home.
Lets take a moment to discuss her wedding day attire. Her art -deco inspired ring included emerald accents on the side, which went along great with her sleek Amsao Bridal Gown. Love when girls express their individuality on their wedding day.
The ceremony lasted 20 minutes as her 20+ guests sat around the living room and watched. The guest rode in true southern style as the trolly brought them downtown to the art museum for the reception.
The night was filled with Spanish inspired dishes from Pamplona’s, dancing, and the limbo game! What a great wedding!
